ABOUT THE IMMEDIATE IMPACT FUND
The continuing and uncertain nature of COVID-19 has already had and will continue to have large and lasting impacts on service providers and organizations working with those most vulnerable in our communities and Tribal Nations within the land area currently referred to as Oregon. To respond to these emerging needs we decided to focus our Immediate Impact Fund on COVID-19 specifically. These immediate response grants were intended to address any emergent need related to COVID-19: general operating, making payroll, making up for lost funds due to a cancelled fundraising event, increased client services, etc.
As this pandemic has continued to develop beyond the short term, Oregon has also faced an intense and unprecedented wildfire season. As wildfires continue to spread across our state, we see the devastating impacts they are having on the communities we serve who are already disproportionately and systemically affected by COVID-19. We have worked with our staff, Grantmaking Committee, and Board to shift our process again and be as adaptive as we can in our own response. Organizations affected by COVID-19 and/or the Wildfires may APPLY HERE. ***We are NOT ABLE to provide grants or support to individuals or businesses.***
At the launch of this fund in March, we received many applications. The initial priorities for our response funding included direct service organizations demonstrating commitment to serving women, girls, and their families and communities (including trans* and non-binary / gender non-conforming communities, as well as those working on issues of gender oppression, and that are unlikely to receive funding through other response funds or avenues of support. Through a streamlined, open application process and a focused, outreach approach, funds were directed to over fifty 501(c)3 or fiscally sponsored groups.
Thank you to the following for their contributions to our Immediate Impact Fund: Collins Foundation, Meyer Memorial Trust, MRG Foundation, Northwest Health Foundation, Oregon Community Foundation, Ronald W Naito Foundation, and Yarg Foundation. And thank you to the continued generosity of our individual donors for supporting gender justice across communities during these critical and challenging times.
Please consider making a DONATION to support the Immediate Impact Fund, specifically focused on COVID-19 and/or the Wildfires. Thank you!
